How to Use FurMark Safely
FurMark places a sustained, unusually heavy load on a graphics card. Prepare the PC first, watch temperature and visual behavior throughout the run, and stop immediately if the system becomes unstable.
Before You Start
Install the current graphics driver from NVIDIA, AMD or Intel, return experimental overclock settings to a known baseline, and close games or other GPU-heavy programs. Make sure fans and air intakes are not blocked. On a laptop, connect the approved power adapter and use a hard, ventilated surface.
Choose a Test
Use a moderate resolution for an initial stability check. A preset benchmark is useful when you need a repeatable score; a stress test is better for observing sustained temperature, fan behavior and stability. Do not compare scores from different resolutions, APIs or presets.
Run and Monitor
Start with a short run while watching temperature, clock speed, power and fan response. Look for flashing polygons, colored dots, driver resets, black screens, freezes or a rapid temperature rise. These symptoms can indicate unstable clocks, inadequate cooling, a power problem or a driver issue.
Stop and Record
Stop the test if temperature exceeds the limit published for the exact GPU, if cooling cannot stabilize it, or if artifacts and crashes appear. Record the FurMark version, preset, resolution, API, score, FPS and peak temperature so a later result can be compared under the same conditions.

Does FurMark test the whole PC?
No. FurMark primarily loads the graphics processor. Separate tools and procedures are needed to validate CPU, memory, storage and the complete power delivery path.
Should I run FurMark after changing a GPU?
A short monitored test can reveal cooling, driver or stability problems, but it should be combined with real games or applications.
Can I use the PC during the test?
Avoid other GPU-heavy work. Background activity changes the result and can make a stability problem harder to diagnose.
